Throughout the trailer a myriad of well loved Lake District sites can be spotted, including Buttermere, Crummock Water and Keswick.
During the visit Firth visited Sedbergh where he was pictured with Sedbergh School pupils and the Keswick Alhambra cinema to watch Judy, a drama about Judy Garland.
Assistant manager Helen Smith was on duty that night.
She said at the time: “I told him we used to have a Colin Firth picture up in the gents loo a few years back and he thought that was hilarious. When I asked if I could get a picture he said ‘Where do you want me?’
“He was really nice, and had a laugh and a joke when I said I was embarrassed about asking him to pose next to a radiator. He said that he and his friends were all very impressed with the Alhambra. It was a real pleasure meeting him in our lovely little cinema.”
The world-renowned actors also enjoyed a Sunday lunch at The Sun Inn, Bassenthwaite.
After which the pub’s Facebook account published a photograph of a staff member with the actors.
Supernova sees Firth, 60, and Tucci, 59, play Sam and Tusker, who have been partners for 20 years.
After receiving the heartbreaking news that Tusker has early-onset dementia the couple give up their jobs and embark on a countrywide tour in an old campervan, visiting friends, family and places from their past.
The emotional feature was written and directed by Harry Macqueen.
He said: “Supernova is a deeply romantic, modern love story.
“ It follows two people who are bound together by their love for each other, but being pushed apart by the situation they find themselves in. It is an intimate, naked portrayal of a relationship facing a fissure that threatens to cut it to its very core. Supernova is an empowering, powerful and challenging film about what we are willing to do for the people that we love.”
